David W Krahenbuhl, age 88, of Independence passed away March 10, 2019. Visitation Service will be on March 16, 2019, 11:00am to 12:00pm, with the funeral service to follow at 12:00pm. Services will be held at Newcomers Noland Road Chapel, 509 S Noland Rd, Independence, MO. Burial in Floral Hills Cemetery, Kansas City MO. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and will be dearly missed.
David was born March 16, 1930 in Independence, MO to the late Fritz and Matilda (Leithoff) Krahenbuhl. He was a lifelong resident of Independence, graduating from William Chrisman High School in 1948.
During high school, he worked at Independence Paint and Wallpaper Co as a stockperson. He enlisted in the Army and served his country during the Korean War. After his service, he returned to Independence to continue working in the wallpaper industry until retiring in 1995.
He married Barbara Van Dyke on May 24, 1952 in Independence. Barbara passed away in 2009.
David and Barbara raised three sons; Mark, Greg and Michael.
David was preceded in death by his siblings: Charles, Arthur, Robert, and Mildred Fizer.
He is survived by his sons: Mark (Terri), Greg, and Michael (Theresa). Grandchildren: Sean, Tami, Alex, and Austin. Great Grandchildren: Oliver, Elliott, Elijah.
