One of the biggest influences in my life ,Mac ,you were considered family too my kids and me you always were a close friend and mentor you taught me so many things in this life that I will carry with me always .You were a strong opinionated no bs type of person that I was fortunate too have met in this lifetime your advice and knowledge and big heart will always be remembered …I only wish I would’ve found out sooner .My condolences and sympathy goes too your family.

I met Dave back in 1977 while cruising down Noland Road. Back then, Noland Road was a gathering place for teenagers. We would cruise the strip, meet up in parking lots, show off our cars, and spend hours talking, laughing, and enjoying the simple freedom of being young. It was nights of cool cars, good times, and good friends.

One evening, Dave was cruising as a passenger in his friend’s 69 Mach 1 when they spotted me driving my ’70 Mach 1. So, what began with two Mustangs cruising on Noland Road grew into a lasting friendship.

Dave had a fiery spirit and a personality all his own, but beneath the surface was a generous heart and a deep loyalty to the people he cared about. Whenever a friend or family member was in need, he was there to help.

He was supportive during of the loss of both my father and my mother. He also became a special part of my family’s life—he took my daughter and her friends to several head-banging rock concerts! Thank goodness he was up for those concerts. Memories like that bring a smile through the sadness.

After 49 years of friendship, it is difficult to imagine life without him. He has touched many lives in his own unique way, and I feel truly fortunate to have shared so many memories over the years.

He will be deeply missed, but his fiery personality, laughter, stories, kindness, and friendship will remain in my heart. I hope his family and friends can find comfort in the many wonderful memories he left with all of us.
