Elsie Earlene Crews

Elsie Earlene Crews, age 85, of Independence, Missouri passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Centerpoint Medical Center in Independence, MO. Elsie was born on August 11, 1937 to E.C. Guiley & Doris C. Webb. She was a lifelong resident of Independence, MO and a graduate of William Chrisman High School, class of 1955.

Elsie was survived by her husband of 55 years, Ernest L. Crews; his daughter, Satana (husband Steve); grandchildren, Tandy Powell, Luke Aleshire (wife Shana) and Caleb Brashear (wife Amber); great grandchildren, Uriah, Kavan, Eli, Lydia and Veda; nieces, Vicky Capek and Debby Wiseman (husband Ron). She was preceded in death by her parents, E.C & Doris; her four children, Denice, Teresa, Sherril and Glenna; along with their father, Carl; her great granddaughter, Jordan; her sister, Delores; all her aunts and uncles and many cousins.

She had worked at Hill Flower Shop as a floral designer and Manager during some of time she spent there. Her hobbies included crocheting, quilting and decorating cakes for friends and families’ special events. She also enjoyed going to Bluegrass Festivals and Ship reunions with her husband and made many friends along the way.

Services for Elsie will be held at the Life Connection Church, 3833 Blue Ridge Blvd., Independence, MO 64052 on Wednesday, January 4, 2023. Visitation at 10am with the funeral service beginning at 11am and committal service following in Oakland Cemetery, Buckner, MO.
