George and Lora Lee had the lake place at Pomme de Terre for over 50 yrs. We had alot of fun fishing and camping, swimming and shooting off fireworks on the 4th of July and when we had our own kids, we spent many weekends there each summer with the "cousins". Alot of great memories with our family there. When George retired and moved to the lake, he read some books he got from the library and figured out how to run DOS on his 1st computer. Very impressive for that early in home computer ownership. George was very intelligent that way. He understood what most would never attempt to learn. George loved to fish. The very 1st time I went with George, Bud and Lennie fishing, they were trolling Martin Flats. I was along for the boat ride. George was using several poles and asked me to hand him one that was next to me but wasn't in the water. So I did and about 2 minutes later the water patrol pulled up and asked for everyones fishing license. Including me. But I wasnt fishing. Yes you were i saw you pick up that pole. But it wasnt even in the water. Doesn't matter. They put my name in the paper like a common criminal and fined me $50!!!! George will be missed. I imagine he is reunited with Lora Lee and Georgie and they are happy. ❤

Many good times we shared, from days when he lived on Cogan Rd camping in the backyard. Visited George when he worked at the fire station to being in the basement business. Went to Mexico as a big group with family, that was a fun time! Many nights in hunting camps from Colorado to Pomme de Terre were spent telling stories. You'll be missed!

I have known George all my life. He was a neighbor at the lake. He will be greatly missed. I loved going over and talking to him. He was a friend to me and my family. To me he was part of my family.
We are heartbroken that we cannot make it to the services. I am praying for Marilyn and his family. We love you guys. George is having a cold one with everyone in Heaven. Uncle Bud and my Daddy probably had a cold one waiting for him at Heavens door. George we will miss you.
