It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jerry Allen Morgan, who departed peacefully with his family by his side at Mayo Hospital on June 16, 2025, at the age of 76. Jerry Allen Morgan, born November 18, 1948, was a cherished native of Independence, Missouri, and a resident of Eau Claire, Wisconsin. He was known for his sharp mind, quick wit, kind heart, and vibrant smile, cherishing time with loved ones.
Jerry proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a computer technician, including a tour on the aircraft carrier USS Midway and a Vietnam Cruise during the Vietnam War. He also held a position as a data processor at America's Navy Reserve.
After graduating from Truman High School in Missouri in 1967, Jerry continued his pursuit of knowledge, studying business at Pinal County Community College, the University of Arizona, Central Missouri State University, and Graceland College.
Jerry held various professional roles, including a meter reader at Arizona Water Company and a lead REI operator at Mobil Oil Credit Card Center. A true innovator, he also owned and operated The BYTE Shop in Independence, Missouri, a computer business serving his community. A past ordained minister, Jerry dedicated his time to charity work for the church and shared his wisdom by preaching sermons at the Latter-day Saints Church in Missouri. His faith was a guiding light, manifesting in his compassionate heart and his constant willingness to help friends and family in times of need.
Jerry found joy in diverse passions. He loved computers, was an avid reader and movie enthusiast, and enjoyed a wide range of music. A loyal sports fan of the Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs, he also relished life's simple pleasures, particularly his favorite sweet treats, including milkshakes.
Jerry's boundless love, infectious humor, and profound wisdom will be deeply missed. While our hearts ache, we find comfort knowing he's at peace, joyfully home with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. His memory will forever shine brightly as a beacon of love, laughter, and an enduring spirit.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Joanie Morgan; son, Chad Morgan; daughter, Stacy Rictor; brother, Steve Morgan; six grandchildren; and dear friend, Lauren Cunningham. He was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Morgan, and parents, Virginia and Calvin Morgan.
Jerry's funeral will be held Wednesday, June 25th, at Plombon Funeral Home in Stanley, Wisconsin. Visitation is from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with the service following at 1:00 PM. A meal will be held at Debbies on Broadway in Stanley after the service. Plombon Funeral Home is assisting the family with these arrangements.
A visitation and burial will also be held in Independence, Missouri. This will take place on Saturday, June 28th, with a visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Newcomer's Noland Road Chapel. A burial will follow at Oak Ridge Memory Gardens, also in Independence. Newcomer's Noland Road Chapel is assisting the family with these arrangements.
