

He grew up the 4th of 8 children on the Westside of Kansas City, Mo. and went to Franklin Elementary and West Jr High School,
leaving for the Navy at 17. He was a Navy Seabee 40 also known as the "Fighting Forty". They were a famous unit of the U.S. Navy Seabees (construction mechanics and engineers) who built bases and airfields. Spending 1 year in Vietnam and a total of 5 years service to our country.
John Dennis married his wife Esperanza (Hope) Vanessa Vargas on December 31,1965 and had 60 wonderful years of marriage and one son John Joseph Riedl.
He worked for Phillips Petro in Kansas City Kansas for 11 years before being sent to Dumas Texas to the Phillips Gas Plant for 14 years working up to Field Supervisor for a total of 25 years service.
John Dennis loved to fish,woodworking, playing the slots and had a way of telling stories of his life experiences that would keep you entertained for hours!
He was a wonderful Husband, Son, Father, Brother, Uncle, Friend and Neighbor
John Dennis is survived by his wife Esperanza (Hope) Vanessa Riedl, his Son and Daughter-In-Law John Joseph and Karen Riedl
His Sister and Brother-In-Law Cindy and Charles Woodall, Sister Beth Williams, Brother-In-Law Ben French, Brother-In-Law Ruben Reyes.
He was proceeded in death by Parents Frank and Lucille Riedl, Brother Frank Riedl Jr., Sisters Barbara Dye, Bonnie French, Linda Riedl, Becky (Riedl) Reyes and Brother-In-Law Charles Wade Johnson.
He also was Blessed with 36 Nieces and Nephews/with spouses, 50 Great Nieces and Nephews/with spouses and 33 Great Great Nieces and Nephews, many lifelong Friends and Neighbors.
John Dennis requested there be no funeral or visitation and will be cremated with the Interment at Higginsville Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
