Lewis G. Halsey, age 86, of Independence, passed away Jan 7, 2017. He was born Feb. 4, 1930 in Huntsville, MO to Albert and Rosie (Hailey) Halsey. He was raised and educated in Huntsville. Lewis joined the US Navy in 1947 and served his country for eight years. From his marriage, he had 2 children, Linda R LaPlante and Douglas W. Halsey. He worked for ATT & Western Electric until he retired in 1981. He is survived by daughter Linda LaPlante(Mark), Douglas Halsey(Christiana). Grandchild Jessica L LaPlante great grandson Mark A LaPlante. Brothers; Jim Halsey and Bill Chasteen.
