Mario was born January 1, 1960, in the beautiful town of Rumbek in the Republic of South Sudan, Mario's journey took an unexpected turn on August 15, 2025. As we grieve the profound absence left by his untimely passing, we recognize the incredible impact he had on all of our lives.
Mario Malith Deng Awanon was a beloved son to Deng Awaunhom and Amer Dhor, growing up surrounded by warmth of a loving family that included three devoted sisters and two caring brothers. He shared a beautiful life with his wife, Awau Machol, and took immense pride in being the father of three wonderful children, who were truly the center of his universe.
In reflecting on Mario's life, we are enveloped in sadness as we confront the loss of such a remarkable spirit, taken from us far too soon. In these challenging moments, we find solace in the comforting words of Isaiah 57:1-2, which remind us that sometimes the good and righteous leave this world early. Although it seems unbearably unfair to lose someone so cherished, we hold on to the hope that there is a divine purpose in the tapestry of our lives. We believe that those who stive to lead lives filled with goodness and kindness will find peace in eternal rest.
Mario Malith Deng's Spirit will forever reside in our hearts. We will hold dear the precious memories he has gifted us, celebrating his lasting legacy as a devoted husband, faith, brother and friend. His laughter, wisdom, and boundless love will continue to inspire and uplift us. Rest in peace, dear brother. You will be profoundly missed, and you will always be remembered with love and deep gratitude.
