Mark was my neighbor. I truly enjoyed our talks and time together. He always had helpful advice on how to more effectively do this or that project around the house, and it really came from his desire to help others. As Eric said, he would beam with pride when he spoke of his kids. He cared deeply for and loved them. Mark will be missed dearly.

I met Mark in 2008 and am blessed to  have been able to spend some good times with him over the last few years. The first time meeting Mark he showed up at my house about an hour early for a card game, so we ran to a couple stores to pick up candles and snacks (yes, odd). I always enjoyed seeing him either at church, at cards or anywhere else. He was a no BS guy, and I always appreciated that. 
To his kids, as my brother said, he clearly loved you very much and did always have great things to say about you. Mark will be missed by more people than some may think. I know I will think of him often.

My heartfelt sympathy to Mark's family.  To his kids - he always spoke highly of you and was a very proud father.  Mark will always hold a special place in my heart, as he provided a place for my brother to live when my brother was in need.  He had a good heart, and will be missed.
