Mary was born on February 1, 1942 to Carl E. and Sarah Pearl Olson in Otwell, Arkansas. Her family then moved to McCune, Kansas where she then spent her years growing up. In her early twenties she met the love of her life. Then on June 29th of 1964, B. Eugene Johnson and Mary Louise Johnson married in holy matrimony.
Throughout her life she accomplished many incredible things. She was a renowned homemaker who loved to reupholster furniture, go antiquing and much more. Mary Johnson was also a bookkeeper, who eventually used those skills and knowledge to help her spouse run their company Gene’s Electric, eventually retiring in 2009.
Mary Louise Johnson was a passionate member of many organizations. She was a devoted Christian Member of Oakwood Baptist church, where she enjoyed working with the children. As a way to serve her Lord she was also a volunteer for St. Luke's Hospice. Mary loved to paint in all forms, especially China Painting. As a china painter herself, she loved to not only share her passion, but her talent in teaching others the art, even serving as president of the World Wide China Painters Organization, including traveling to conferences in many places.
Mary Louise Johnson was preceded in death by her spouse B. Eugene Johnson, Parents Carl E. and Sarah Pearl Olson and brother Carl A. Olson.
She is survived by her three sons Kevin Johnson, Lone Jack, Robert Todd Johnson, Concordia, and Eric (Dawna) Johnson, Odessa. Her four grandchildren, Nathan (Trinity) Johnson, Odessa; Emily Johnson, Bates City; Thomas Johnson, Newark, New Jersey; Aleah Johnson, Fairfax, Virginia, and One Sister, Sarah Johnston, McCune, Kansas.
Memorial gathering Saturday August 23, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00am Oakwood Baptist Church, 7600 Lee's Summit Rd Kansas City, Missouri 64139. With a memorial service starting at 11:00 am. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mount Tabor Cemetery, Oakwood Baptist Church.
