Myrle was a master boilermaker and master welder. He was an expert at heating and cooling as well. He retired as an Operating Engineer from Fairmont Zarda Dairy in Kansas City. He was a union man and a proud member and retiree in December 1996 of Operating Engineers Union Local 101.
Myrle had many interests and hobbies. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed being out on his boat, drinking a brew while relaxing and fishing. He loved camping and found solace in nature. He loved motorcycles and rode them throughout his entire life, even into his 70’s. In his 60’s he rode his Harley Soft Tail to the Artic Circle, camping along the way! He loved country music and played the guitar, bass, and harmonica. Myrle loved playing and singing with his brothers, sisters and son-in-law. He busked at the City Market on occasion for fun and also participated in jam sessions at senior centers in his community and loved his friends and meals at both Vesper Hall and Palmer Hall. He enjoyed having his pilot’s license and spent a lot of time at the airport and flying his Cessna, Piper Cub, and experimental aircraft. Myrle also loved riding bicycles – both pedal pushers and electric. He spent many days with his good friend Donald Eugene “Gene” Likely riding all over the metropolitan area and could often be found on the Katy Trail taking a break from riding his bicycle to sit on a bench and play his harmonica.
Myrle was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved sister Jacqueline (Woltz) Johnson. He is survived by his children, daughter Jeannie (Woltz) Piper and husband Gordon, daughter Donna (Woltz) Schulze and husband David, son Joe Woltz and wife Kathy, son Northpaw Radicand and wife Angel Roberts, and daughter Lori (Woltz) Steinbrueck and husband Paul; his grandchildren Ryan Schulze, Laremy Schulze, Andrew (Tammy) Woltz, Matthew (Katherine) Woltz, Daniel (Hollie) Woltz, and Peter Steinbrueck; brothers John (Anne) Woltz and Kenny (Marlene) Woltz, and sister Elaine (Woltz) Herron (Ray); great-grandchildren Ella Schulze, Cameron Schulze, Patrick Woltz, Finnlee Woltz, and Sophie Woltz as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.
