A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 13th at Newcomer’s Chapel at 509 S Noland Rd, Independence, MO starting at 6:00pm with a short service at 7:30.
Paul was born September 4, 1935 to George V. and Nora F. Zans in Kansas City, MO. He was the youngest of three boys. While attending Central High school he worked for the KC Star. After graduation in 1954, he attended a trade school for printing. In June 1957, he married his high school sweet heart, Janice. A year later, he was drafted into the US army where he was a supply sergeant. After completing his service he returned home where he worked as a pressman for Posty Cards, Herald House and Minute Man Press.
Poppo Paul enjoyed watching the Chiefs and Royals games with his two sons Mark, and Michael. He was the man with the camera at each family gathering and the first to know when one of his four granddaughters were mentioned in the paper.
He is preceded in death by his parents George and Nora Zans and his brother, John Zans.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Janice Lusso; His brother, Richard; His two sons, Mark Zans of Ingleside, TX, Michael and Amy Zans of Independence, MO; Four granddaughters, Jennifer Clark and spouse Brent of Independence, MO, Emily Dunn and husband Alex of Aurora, CO, Vivian Zans of Tampa, FL and Mikayla Zans of Independence, MO. He also had two great grandchildren, Elsie and Wally Clark.
