Robert Duane McLaughlin

He is survived by his girlfriend Micaela Graham of his home. Son Ian (Jenna) of Liberty, Mo. , son Jamon (Kayla) of Excelsior Springs, Mo., and bonus sons Antonio and Quentin Graham of the home. Grandsons River (2), Ijay (1), Cooper (1) and grandson number 4 due in August. Brother Garry (Meka), nephews Tyler, Eithen and Hunter and many more family and friends.

Robert grew up in the Independence area attending several schools and high schools. He worked several years in the party and event setup business.

Robert’s sons and grandsons are his pride and joy. He loved to camp, play basketball and arm wrestle anyone brave enough to accept the challenge. Robert loved spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid Chiefs fan and you could find him on Sunday’s surrounded by friends and family cheering them on. Robert also loved to grill and clean.

Robert was not a fan of heights resulting in one hell of a road trip adventure in Las Vegas in May of 2021.

To know Robert was to love him. He was truly the most soft-hearted, thoughtful person you could have ever come across. He would give a stranger the shirt off his back without hesitation.

Robert was a simple man, never into extravagant things. He loved thrift store shopping and garage sales.

Robert was a hard-worker and loved his job at Independence Manor Care Center where he was loved by everyone he worked with, including the residents.
