Ronald Earl Norman, 88 years old of Independence, Missouri passed away on May 26th, 2021. Born in Independence on April 25, 1933, he was the son of Joseph and Lydia Norman. A 1956 graduate of Kansas City University, he later earned master’s degrees from Pepperdine University and the University of Northern Colorado. He was a decorated officer in the United States Marine Corps who saw action in multiple theaters including three tours in Vietnam. After a 23-year career in the military, he served as the executive vice president of the Kansas City Area Hospital Association and later worked for the University of Missouri – Project Refocus.
Ron and his wife Barbara travelled extensively during his career. He enjoyed reading, music, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. He will be remembered for his extensive knowledge of military history, sharp wit and sense of humor, love of country and deep devotion to his wife and family.
He is survived by his daughter Pamela, his son Michael and his wife Renee, and three grandsons, Joseph, Matthew, and Joshua.
Memorial services will be held Friday, June 4, 10:00am at D.W. Newcomer’s Noland Road Chapel in Independence...”We will meet again!”
