Sharon was born on October 20, 1937 in Moberly MO to Elva Allen (Roberson)Kessler Maxey and Emmett Austin Kessler. Elva married Harold Eugene “Buck” Maxey on March 23, 1940. Sharon’s childhood memories were made on Franklin Avenue where she was raised by her loving parents Buck and Elva Maxey and her Grandmother Roberson. She graduated from Moberly Junior College in 1957 and married Elmo Anthony “Mo” Kroner Jr. on May 24, 1958. Together they had two daughters and enjoyed over 59 years of marriage. After raising her children, Sharon joined Harmony Printing in 1980 and retired as their Human Resource Manager in 2000.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Sharon is survived by her two daughters and their husbands, Julie and Dan
Garland of Independence MO and Stacy and Tom Ernst of Kansas City MO; and her grandchildren, Shane, Jamie and Sydney Garland and Jake, Max and Joseph Ernst.
Sharon was an accomplished artist, seamstress, puzzler and enjoyed craft projects. She spent her retirement years gardening, lunching with friends and researching genealogy. Whether doting on her family, progressing a new project along or organizing and labeling virtually everything, Sharon was happiest while in perpetual motion! Together, Sharon and Mo documented entire cemeteries to help others with genealogy research. They attended hundreds of their grandchildren’s school and sporting events and savored watching them become young adults.
A 9:00am visitation and 10:00am funeral mass will be held on Saturday,December 15th at St. Mark’s Catholic Church in Independence at 3736 S Lee’s Summit Road followed by a graveside inurnment service at 3:30pm in Moberly, MO at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
