Shirley L. Fraher, 94, died peacefully in the loving company of her family on January 25, 2018. Shirley was born and died in Independence, MO, but spent some 25 years in service to our Lord in Wyoming, Colorado and Kansas as a Sister of Charity of Leavenworth. Shirley was the first born of Glenna (Lynch) Fraher and Charles Fraher. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Fraher, sister and brother-in-law, Jeanne & Joe Hare and her beloved uncle and aunt Hub & Mable Lynch. She graduated from St. Mary’s in Independence. Her remembrances of youth recalled happy times of what would be life-long bonds of friends and family.
Shirley’s life was one of devotion to those she loved. She was a loving daughter and caring niece; a bossy sister and a dedicated aunt. She enjoyed a close-knit community of neighbors. Those who knew her were assured of a generous friend.
She showed her love in countless ways every single day of her long and joyful life. Left to follow her example is her brother Charles E. Fraher and his wife, Jerry, of Foley, AL. Nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews of Hares, Frahers, Braggs, Rileys, Nelsons, Salvas, and Maluganis.
May those of us touched by her continue to cherish our families and rejoice in the simple pleasures of company, cards, puzzles, and games; food, laughter and family.
A visitation is scheduled for Friday, February 2, 6-8pm with Rosary at 7pm, Newcomers Noland Road Chapel, 509 S. Noland Rd, Independence, MO.
