

Simon was born July 10, 1943, in Kansas City, KS. He grew up in Courtney, MO, and graduated from William Chrisman High School in 1961. After graduating high school, he went on to be a dedicated employee of Sears, Levitz Furniture, and Sioux Chief Manufacturing before retiring in 2011.
Simon was a passionate sports fan and especially loved his Kansas City Royals and Chiefs. He was well-known to those close to him for his deep love of bowling, music, traveling, and being an avid collector of sports memorabilia. He loved reminiscing and sharing stories of his life experiences with friends and family.
Simon was preceded in death by his parents Jesus and Maria Rivera, the love of his life – Wanda Eckerle, his brother Tommy Florido, his aunt Isabel Gonzalez, and his furry friend Cooper the cat.
Simon is survived by his children, daughters Stephanie, Teresa, and Valerie, and son Steven, his grandchildren Trinity, Jesse, Ryan, Natalia, Reina, Savannah, Leah, and Christian, his brothers and sisters Frannie, Mary, Faustino Jr., Gabriel, Vincent, Eva, Cecilia, Elidia, Socorro, Rachel, and Hector, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
