Stephen Lee Moon Sr.

Steve was born in Independence, Missouri, to the late Ural Moon Jr. and Dorothy June Moon. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy before beginning a career as a mechanic, a trade he enjoyed for many years. He later retired from the Water Department after years of dedicated service.

Steve was known for his mechanical mind and his love of tinkering. Whether he was fixing something, building something, or lending a helping hand, he was happiest when he could put his skills to use. He was always willing to help someone in need and will be remembered for his generosity, resourcefulness, and quiet willingness to be there for others.

Steve is survived by his children, Stephen Moon Jr., Ryan Moon, and Paige Moon; his grandchildren, Riley Moon, Hunter Moon, and Avery Moon; and his siblings, Gayla Hattaway, Rex Moon, and Jerry Moon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ural Moon Jr. and Dorothy June Moon.

A Celebration of Life will be held on July 25, 2026 at Mike Onka Memorial Hall 11520 E Putnam St Sugar Creek, MO 64054

3pm-7pm. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor Steve’s life, share memories, and celebrate the lasting impact he made on those who knew and loved him.
