Bill (as he was known to family and friends) was born February 15, 1949 in Kansas City, Missouri and grew up in Independence. He attended Raytown High School. After graduation, Bill began a 40-year career as an Electrician. He was a very proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for over 50 years. Bill’s commitment to the IBEW, and to all union workers, was obvious to all, as evidenced by his long-standing policy that no foreign car would ever be parked in his driveway!
Bill had a variety of interests and passions throughout his life. He loved animals, probably more than he loved most people, and bred Huskies for several years. He was an enthusiastic Harley rider, and he enjoyed restoring and working on classic cars. Bill was a man of wide ranging and strong opinions and beliefs, and was always willing to share them with others.
Bill is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sherri Shepherd; his daughter, Christina George; three grandchildren, Blake Alley, Jack George, and Olivia George; his sister, Kathy Ramey; his aunt, Lillian Gage; his niece, Kim Jackson, and his great-niece, Amanda Dennis; along with numerous close friends. He was preceded in death by Bill, Eileen and Dee Shepherd.
