It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Annette Katherine Runge, at the age of 87 years. She was born on August 2, 1936 and died on June 3, 2024, with all of her loving family beside her.
Anyone who knew Annette, knows what a dedicated farm wife, mother, grandmother and community member she was. She was a very hard working woman who enjoyed spending most of her days in the kitchen cooking up a storm, in her garden planting acres of vegetables, or having coffee at her kitchen table with the endless amount of company who always stopped by to say hi on a daily basis. She was a farm woman through and through from day one. Annette dedicated herself to helping out on the farm in any way that she possibly could, from cooking meals and taking them out to the field, running for parts that were needed or taking grain samples to the elevator to be tested. She was not afraid to get her hands dirty and enjoyed everything farm life had to offer.
She was also a very dedicated parishioner of the St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, and was an avid member of the Catholic Women's League for 65 years. She took great pride in her church work and relationships with her fellow parishioners, and priests along the way.
Annette was predeceased by her loving husband Jim Runge; son Vern Runge; son-in-law Greg Havelange; mother Lillian Stoker and father Joseph Stoker; brother David Stoker; brother-in-law Dennis Leahy; nephew Kevin Braithwaite and great nephew Adam Braithwaite.
She is survived by her sons: Glen Runge, Robert Runge (Dianna), Russell Runge (Heather); daughter Myrna Havelange; grandchildren James Runge and Crystal Runge; Miranda Whalen and Lantz Havelange; Jessica Runge and Rod Runge and great-grandchildren Kaleb Barrett and Mason Barrett; Nash Whalen and Emery Whalen and Denton Havelange and Brynlee Havelange.
The funeral mass was celebrated in St. Joseph’s R.C. Church, Indian Head, Saskatchewan on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. by Rev. Francis Hengen. A private family interment took place in the Indian Head Cemetery followed with a family gathering at the family farm North of Indian Head.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memoriam may be made to St. Joseph's R.C. Church, P.O. Box 68, Indian Head, SK S0G 2K0.
