Elsie Astalos

Elsie is survived by her children Glenda (Tom) Whalen and Clint Astalos; grandchildren: Nik (Miranda) Whalen, Travis (Jana) Whalen and Amy Astalos (Thomas Hesterman); great-grandchildren: Nash, Emery Whalen and Parker Whalen; her sisters Marj Davies and Teresa (Earl) Harmon and sister-in-law Lois Danku. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Elsie worked for many years at the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool, first in the Livestock division and then in the Agro Centre. Elsie was active in her community with the McLean Ladies Softball, McLean Women’s Club and the Parkland Riding Club. Mom loved horses and in her retirement, she and Dad began horse pulling and enjoyed many years of friendship with the teamsters.

She was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, Mike Astalos; parents Steve and Theresa Danku; brother Frank and her brother-in-law Barry.

She will be greatly missed. Your work is done, rest in peace Mom.

The family would like to thank the Echo Lodge staff for the wonderful care that Elsie had received in the last few years.

A cremation has taken place and a private family interment will take place at a later date.
