

The funeral service for the late Grace McCubbin Worden of Indian Head, Saskatchewan, Canada who died at Indian Head on June 30, 2003, at the age of 91 years was held in St. Andrew's United Church, Indian Head, Saskatchewan, Canada on July 5, 2003 with Pastor Sheila McLeod officiating. Interment followed in the Indian head Cemetery. The casketbearers were Dave Gruber, Ray Hammond, Cec Biden, Glen Horsman, Gordon Laskey and Ron Braithwaite.
Grace was born on November 22, 1911 at Qu'Appelle, Saskatchewan, Canada, daughter of James and Grace (McCubbin) Devlin. She attended school in Qu'Appelle and after completing Normal School in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada became a teacher in rural Saskatchewan. In 1941, Grace married Mort Worden. They lived on the family farm in the Glenn Lynn district until 1968 when they moved to Indian Head. Grace worked in Robison's Department Store for three years and then returned to teaching which she continued until her retirement in 1974. During her retirement, Grace enjoyed many years of traveling including several winters in Mesa, Arizona. Grace was very involved in her community and belonged to many organizations such as the Glenn Lynn Circle, Willing Workers, Order of the Royal Purple and the Goodwill Unit of the U.C.W. Playing bridge, dancing and coffeeing with friends were important parts of Grace's life.
Grace was predeceased by her parents, Jim and Grace Devlin; one brother, Jim and three sisters: Annas Willison, Mary Berven and Peggy Tillier. She is survived by her husband, Mort, one son, Doug (Lois Evans) Worden, Stoughton, Saskatchewan, Canada, two daughters: Joan (Smitty) Smith, Lethbridge, Albera, Canada and Diane (Sam) Sarson, Swift Current, Saskatchewan, Canada; four grandchildren: Corinne (Dale) Steele, Jennifer Smith, Andrea Sarson and Scott Sarson, one great grandson, Ethan Steele, one sister in law, Rae Devlin and one niece and two nephews.
Grace will be lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
Grace's family wishes to thank all the staff at the Golden Praire Nursing Home, Indian Head, Saskatchewan, Canada for their special care and kindness to Grace during her last five years as a resident.
