THAUBERGER - It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Kay Thauberger on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at the age of 83 years. She was predeceased by her husband Adam in 2007, her son Ralph, grandson Aaron, great-granddaughter Morgan, and her parents, Frank and Johanna Kuffner. Kay leaves to mourn her children: Barbara (Richard) Kolb and their son Trevor (Tracey); David (Lorna) and their children Tania (Chris) [Jacie (Kiley) and son Kohen, Hailey, Lucas], Chad (Jackie) [Kaylee, Payton and Colby]; daughter-in-law, Evelyn (Larry McCullough) and her children Christie (Brad) Robinson [Aidan and Rowan] Ryan (Leah) [Kaia and Rayna]; Frank (Ruth) and their children Nicholas (Jessica) and Matthew (Krista); Charles (Adelle) and his children Jaimie (Mike) [Reagan, Jaydan and Jace] Bree (Pat) [Addison and Adrianna] Clint (Ashley) [Jaxon] and Cory-Anne (Troy); Leonard (Cheryl) and their children Sarah, Tyler (Jenna) [Benjamin]; Gertrude and her son Cam (Kim) [Adam and Caden]; her brothers and sisters; John, Irene, Mary, Mike, Ida, Helen, Bill, Andy and Tony; sister-in-law Kay Warnecke; aunts Mandy Krofchek, Ann Mertler, Pauline Nettling; and many nieces and nephews. Kay was born and raised in the Cupar District. She met Adam, the love of her life, while working at Frank's CafÈ in Regina. Kay and Adam were married in 1948 and began raising their family in Regina before buying their first farm at Pilot Butte in 1958. Kay enjoyed her large garden, sewing, crocheting and family time; her family continues to treasure her handmade gifts. Kay took great pleasure in attending family events and watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren at their many activities. Kay was the family historian and was the one to ask about relatives birthdays, weddings and special events. Kay enjoyed participating in craft sales, dancing and playing cards with family and friends. The family wishes to thank the staffs of the Regina General Hospital and the William Booth Hospice for their kind and compassionate care at mom's time of need. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph's R.C. Church, Balgonie, SK. on Monday, April 22, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. by the Rev. Ed Hengen. Cremation with interment in St. Joseph's Parish Cemetery at a later date. If friends so desire, contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 279 3rd Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK.
