

Peggy Burton was born in Scotland in 1922, she came to Canada as a toddler with her two older sisters and parents to settle on a farm near Ruthilda, Saskatchewan. After growing up there she took a business course and entered the working world in Prince Albert where she met and married Allan Burton.
She married a pilot, but they took over his family farm near Abernethy after the war. They had four children: Louise, Jack, Donna and Bob who all survived her along with two adored grandchildren Crystal and Brydon and four great grandchildren Parker and Scarlet, Cameron and Casey. She is also survived by a sister Agnes and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family who were all important to her. Peggy was predeceased by her husband Allan in 1996, a sister Jessie and two nieces Mary and Julia.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Knox United Church, Abernethy on Thursday, September 21, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. with Gladys Pavo-Penny officiating. A tea will follow in the Abernethy Hall. A family interment of cremated remains has taken place in the Abernethy Cemetery.
