

Aaron was born on May 5, 1946, to the late Laura Patterson and Ivy Hunt. He grew up in Mississippi, where he attended Ashland Elementary School, and later moved to Indiana, graduating from Crispus Attucks High School.
Aaron lived a remarkable life filled with hard work, leadership, and love for his family and community. He worked on the Conrail railroad as a heavy machine operator. He was the proud owner of Homer’s Lunch Night Club and his association with the Black Cowboys. Later, Aaron worked at Dan Young and shared his skills and dedication at Alternative Home Care Services as an office assistant and maintenance support.
Aaron was more than his career—he was a pillar of his community, known for his generosity and willingness to help anyone in need. Many knew him affectionately as “Dog Hunt,” a name that carried respect and love. He was a man who valued family, friendship, and faith above all.
Aaron was united in marriage to Christine Hunt, and together they built a beautiful family. He was a devoted husband and proud father to: Alex Hunt, Aaron Hunt Jr., Cameron Hunt, Brittney Hunt, Yasmeen, Hunt, Amon Hunt, De’eron Hunt, and Christian Parker. He was a loving grandfather to: Leah Harris, Leonnie Harris, Onestie Jackson, Austin Jackson, Alex Hunt Jr., Alexis Hunt, Cameron Hunt Jr., Camden Hunt, Kamiah Hunt, Mekell Hunt, Mekylin Hunt, Don Brady, Dior Brady, Ayumi, Aubri, Zaryiah Smith, Enri Hunt and great-grandfather to Cameron and Cambourlyn Hunt.
Aaron is also survived by his sisters: Caroline Lee, Hattie Scholar, and Dora White and he leave behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who loved him deeply.
Aaron was preceded in death by his sister Willa Mae and brothers, Ivy Hunt, Charles Payne and grandson Camari Hunt.
Aaron’s legacy is one of love, strength, and service. He was always there to lend a hand, share wisdom, and bring laughter to those around him. His life was a true example of what it means to live with purpose and compassion.
A visitation for Aaron will be held Saturday, September 6, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Martin University Hardin Gathertorium, 2186 N Sherman Dr, Indianapolis, IN 46218. Following the visitation will be a Celebration of Life at 11:00 AM at Martin University, 2186 N. Sherman Dr., Indianapolis, IN 46218.
