20, of Indianapolis, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 9, 2013. Aaron was born August 5, 1993 in Indianapolis. He was a kind and loud soul who passionately helped those in need and always cheered for the underdog. Aaron loved playing all sports, especially football. He put on his first football pads in third grade, and never wanted to take them off. He would play at Holy Spirit at Geist, Cathedral High School and finally quarterbacked the Lawrence North Wildcats Varsity Squad. Not only was he a talented team player but he also enjoyed cruising the four wheels of a skateboard and he was quite good at it. Aaron became a bit more of an artist in his later years, enjoying late evenings patrolling the city with a can of paint. He has sure left his mark all on this city.
He was always striving to be become a great man of responsibility and nobility and we believe he achieved that goal. Aaron was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Harry F. Howard, Martha F. Howard, Dean O. Norton, Alberta Williams, Col. George S. Arbuthnot, Cicely Ann Arbuthnot; grandfather, James Sims. He is survived by his loving family: mother, Justin (Nate) Phillips; father, Dave (Anni Collins) Sims; brother, Bryan Sims; sister, Audrey Sims; step-sisters, Nicole and Ashley Phillips and Megan and Casey Jayne Collins; grandparents, H. Kent (Elizabeth) Howard, Judy (Joseph) Nicholson, Mary J. Sims, and Mary Helen Brott; aunts, Marian Sims, Stacy Howard, Ann Eaglesfield and R. Davey Eaglesfield; cousin, Gavin Howard; Great Uncles Alan and Barry Howard, Doug and Gary Norton; Donald and Richard McFarland; Great-aunt, Jane (Eric) Perkins; cousins, Austin and Caitlin Perkins; his faithful, mixed shepherd puppy, Cain and a host of grateful family and friends. Visitation will be from 2 – 8 PM on Monday, October 14th in Feeney-Hornak Keystone Mortuary (71st and Keystone). Funeral services will begin at 10:00 am on Tuesday at Second Presbyterian Church (7700 N. Meridian St.). Interment follows at Crown Hill Cemetery.
