91 left this world to lead the “Invisible Choir” in singing Irish tunes loudly and happily in heaven.
She entered this life on November 7th, 1925 as the daughter of Helen and Micheal Barrett Kelly. Upon the death of her father from tuberculosis in 1929 the family was raised by her single mother. There was one boy, John Thomas Kelly and five girls, Ester Henn, Mary Claire Morrison, Agnes, Joan Wyand, and Patty Gause. Growing up during the depression, the family lived a happy childhood at a house located at 52nd and Keystone. It was in the country back then and they raised chickens, climbed trees, roller skated on the front porch, and collected and sold golf balls to golfers who’s balls happened to hit their back yard. Agnes and her sisters attended St Joan of Arc Catholic School and Graduated from St. Mary’s Academy. Agnes worked at RCA and the Telephone Company.
Agnes was always searching for a prince and in Bernard P. Langenbacher she found him. Married for 63 years they had four children, Linda (Alfred) Bellezza, Helen (Mark) Miles, Mark Langenbacher and Matt Langenbacher. She had six grandchildren Donald, Kelly, Sam and Jack Miles and Peter Matthew and Chris Thipe.
Agnes always wanted to be a movie star like Katherine Hepburn. When that did not work out she settled for directing CYO plays. One of the stars she directed was former Mayor Greg Ballard. With the play “Remember me at Forest Lawn, She was proud to win Best Drama.
Being a Mom was her most important achievement. She cooked 3 meals a day, did countless loads of laundry, planted gardens, ironed, and made sure that her children always acted properly and with compassion. She told great ghost stories and introduced us to her amazing imagination and her love of reading. Singing was her entertainment and although she could not follow a tune she would lead everyone in singing old Irish ballads at family events.
The family would like to thank the “Night Owls” for giving Agnes love, counseling, donuts and great family gossip throughout the years. Also thanks goes to her caregivers from Senior Home Companions, Shirley Jackson, Dollie Reese, and Dede DeGonzague and her hospice nurse Lynn Brinker.
Celebration of Life will be held on October 8th, 2017 at Woodstock Country Club from 4-6pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Random Acts of Flowers, 1057 East 54th Street Suite F, Indianapolis, IN 46220.
