

Alvin was a graduate of Crispus Attucks High School. He was a veteran of the Korean War and an Ex-Prisoner of War. He also received many service awards such as Korean Service Medal W/4*, United Nations Service Medal, Purple Heart, Korean Presidential Unit Citation, Navy Unit Commendation, and National Defense Service Medal. He was an entrepreneur before entering into the United States Postal Service. He drove for the Post Service for over 40 years. Due to his outstanding work ethics, Alvin obtained the ranking of status (#1) for 15 years, which was the highest seniority received in his division with the Postal Service.
At a very early age Alvin accepted Jesus as his Savior, and was a faithful member of Second Baptist Church for approximately 78 years.
His hobbies included hunting, fishing, traveling, cooking, going to church, reading his Bible and sharing the word of the Lord! He also enjoyed listening to his favorite song Ebb Tide by Roy Hampton.
Alvin passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 18, 2011. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Theodore and Fannie Mae Robinson, Sr.; three brothers, Theodore, Jr., Paul and Charles Robinson; sisters, Katherline Robinson-Hill and Augusta Robinson Blevins.
Those left to cherish his memories are: brother, Joseph Robinson; children, Alvin, Jr. (Deanna) Robinson, Tonya (Dannie) Gore, Peter Robinson, Kevin Robinson, Shauna (David) Eubanks; and a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; family and friends.
