Angela (Reid) Lee, a devoted friend, loving family member, and a woman of faith, was born on February 6, 1965, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Nell and Kenneth Reid, Sr. From a young age, Angela’s heart was filled with compassion and kindness, qualities that would mark her life and legacy.
Angela attended Elementary School #86 and graduated from Broad Ripple High School. Shortly after high school, she embarked on a career dedicated to helping others, beginning in the healthcare field. She later extended her talents to the airline industry and the research field, eventually finding her home at Indiana University Health, where she worked faithfully for over 20 years.
Angela, a woman of deep faith, was baptized in Jesus' name at Christ Church, a place that nurtured her spirit and commitment to others. Angela married Larry Simpson in June 1983. They shared a strong bond and remained best friends throughout her life. In 2005, Angela wed Sinclair Lee, and they, too, shared a close and enduring friendship.
Angela touched the lives of all who knew her with her generous, loving spirit. She was a mentor and role model, offering guidance and encouragement to younger friends and cousins as they pursued their careers. Her philanthropic spirit was evident in her support of charities focused on empowering young girls, women, and the unhoused, a true testament to her heart for service.
Angela found joy in spending special time with family and friends, whether attending musical concerts or exploring new places through travel. She lived each moment with purpose and gratitude, a spirit that uplifted everyone around her.
Angela departed this earthly life on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at 59 years old. She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Reid, Sr., and her buddy, Lindsey. Angela leaves to cherish her memory her beloved mother, Nell Reid; her brother, Kenneth Reid (Yvonne), her nephew, Quincy A. Reid (Terri), great-nephew, Zachary, great-niece, Hosanna, great-nephew, Paul; and a host of loving family members, including her aunts Ada, Rowena, and Anita; her uncle Phil; many cousins; and numerous close friends.
We honor Angela's legacy of kindness, faith, and selflessness. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know her.
A visitation for Angela will be held Friday, November 8, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Crown Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46208, followed by a Celebration of Life at 12:00 PM.
