

ANTHONY received his education in the Indianapolis Public School System where he attended Schools #44 and #50. He later graduated from George Washington High School and went on to further his education at Ivy Tech State College. While a student at Ivy Tech, Anthony maintained a 4.0 grade point average and was on the Dean’s List. Upon graduation, Anthony received his HVAC Certificate.
ANTHONY gave his life to Christ and was baptized at a young age. He attended New Day Pentecostal Church.
ANTHONY was proud to be the father of his daughter, Andrea. She was his “Poo Poo Bear”. His eyes would light up every time he saw her.
ANTHONY enjoyed being around his multitude of family and friends. He also loved going to Grandma Watkins’ house and Aunt Veronica’s house for the holidays.
ANTHONY would always keep his mother up-to-date on what was going on with his large extended family, whom he loved dearly and they in return.
ANTHONY was blessed with multiple skills. He could repair and fix anything such as computers, electrical work, plumbing, or heating & cooling. He was our "Handyman."
ANTHONY and his mother have laughed and cried over the years, but through it all their bond was strong. God always made a way.
ANTHONY DEWAYNE "BANKS" WATKINS departed this life Friday, April 11, 2014 at the age of 38 years, 10 months, and 10 days. He is survived by his mother, Wilma J. Jiles; father, Grover H. Watkins, Sr. (Rose); daughter, Andrea D. Watkins; sister, Delores A. Stewart; significant other, Hope Lewis; grandmother, Mrs. Alma Watkins; step grandmother, Susie L. Miller; aunts on Watkins side, Aljean Porter, Gaynelle Watkins, Ruth Watkins, Gloria Marshall, Sylvia Watkins, Jasmine Watkins, Veronica Watkins and the entire Watson family; aunts & uncles on the Miller side, Sarah Bigbee, Herschel Miller (Debra) of Medesto, California, Art Miller, Jimmie Snow (Molana), Anna Mack (Charles), Bessie Carroll (Mel), Herbert Miller, Jr. (Rita) of Nashville, Tennessee, Melvin, William, David Miller; cousins: Ericka, Derrick, Shiena, Devin, TJ, Chuck, Waymon, Patrick, Tia, Valerie, Andre, Latresa, Michael, Jhalelah, Sahazan, Latila, Angelina, Keynatika and Jamela and many more cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
His visitation will take place on Satuday, April 19, 2014, 10am- 12pm, with the Homegoing Celebration commencing at 12pm at New Day Pentecostal. His burial will take place in New Crown Cemetery.
