

Barbara moved to Indianapolis, IN as a young child with her parents and brother. She attended Public Schools (42 & 87). She graduated from Crispus Attucks High School (Class of 1952).
Barbara and Albert Fields were united in marriage on February 13, 1958. They were married until his passing in July of 2020.
Barbara was employed at the United States Postal Office and Indiana Bell/Ameritech/AT&T where she worked as a telephone operator and was an Admin Assistant at the time of retirement in 1993.
Barbara accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Barnes United Methodist Church for over 60 years. She enjoyed attending church services and singing as a member of the Senior/Chancel Choir. She was also a member of the United Women of Faith Sub-Group. She supported and gave generously of her time and talents to many of the activities of the church
Barbara was a trained pianist. She enjoyed playing gospel hymns and anthems on the piano.
Barbara loved spending her time cooking, cleaning, shopping and spending time with her friends and family. They raved about her candied sweet potatoes, fried corn, lemon cake and homemade ice cream.
On September 6, 2025, Barbara departed this earthly life at the age of 91 years, 9 months and 18 days.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents (Roger Sr. and Ercle), brother (Roger Jr.), sons (LeRoy and Larry) and husband (Albert).
She leaves to cherish her memories are her children: Marshall Sr., Kathy, Stacy (Ladonna), Cheryl and Elaina. grandchildren: Marshall Jr., Jason, Leadrianne, Aja, LeNe’, Stacia, Aaliyah, Chace, great grandchildren: Tierra, Trevon, Dejsha, Mareon, Coleman, Coleby, Bryan, Cevyn, Ayomi, and Hendrix, a great-great grandchild: Ka’riah, nieces: Elaine, Sharon, Toya, Kim, Diamond and Dior, great nephew: Dallas and a host of family members and friends.
