Barbara Jane McCarthy

82, of Indianapolis, passed away February 21, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 7, 1933 in Indianapolis, IN to the late Albert W and Marie “Stauble” Springman. Barbara will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother and for her strength, devotion to her family and church and giving back to others. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband: Michael E. McCarthy of 56 years, her daughters: Kathleen and Maureen McCarthy, sisters: Mary Dickman, Virginia Dugan, Patricia Dolan, brother Donald Springman. She is survived by her children: Mike (Michelle) McCarthy III, Tim (Letsy) McCarthy, Bridget (Ken) Duckett and Danny (Shelley) McCarthy, sisters: Joan Sylvester and Dottie Gerdt, grandchildren: Mike McCarthy IV, Rachel (Samer) Omeish, Jake McCarthy, Kara (Nathen) Gresh, Lauren McCarthy, David McCarthy, Zachery Duckett, Heather Duckett, Andrew Duckett, Matt McCarthy, Megan McCarthy, Mitch McCarthy. Visitation will be Thursday, February 25th, from 3:00 – 8:00 pm in Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary. Funeral services will be Friday, February 26th, 9:30 am in the mortuary with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
