Barbara was born in Webb, Mississippi, to Frank and Eva on January 6, 1960. Her journey on this earth was marked by love, compassion, and an unwavering spirit. She had a gift for making others laugh and a heart for lifting those in need. A devoted wife and mother for over 30 years, Barbara began her career as a nurse aide at Hooverwood Hospital before discovering her true calling as a personal caterer. Her passion for cooking was well known and deeply appreciated by family and friends alike. Before transitioning to work as a school caterer and cafeteria assistant, she served full-time as her family’s manager and organizer. A role she embraced with love and dedication. Barbara was a nurturing caregiver whose warmth touched everyone around her. Her passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of her family, friends, and all the lives she touched.
Barbara is preceded in death by Frank Waters, Eva Lake, Edward Smith and Willie Lake.
Barbara is survived by Andréa, Jeremy, Charles, Welton, and Ralph. She also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, and nephews who adored her dearly.
Those who knew Barbara will remember her infectious smile, joyful laughter, and unwavering commitment to spreading love and kindness to everyone she encountered. She never hesitated to prepare a meal or fix a plate for someone. She was generous and always willing to share.
Visitation will be from 10:00am to 12:30pm on Saturday, June 28th at Crown Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery.
Funeral Services will be at 12:30pm on Saturday, June 28th at Crown Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery with burial to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Crown Hill Funeral Home.
