Bernard William Howard, age 64, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away after a brief battle with cancer on Friday, May 5, 2023. Bernie was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, on February 23, 1959, to Gayle and William L. Howard.
Bernie attended St. Pius X Catholic School and he was a graduate of North Central High School. The oldest of six siblings, he was always physically active and enjoyed riding his bike and listening to music. Bernie was known for his impressive memory of facts and dates, especially regarding all family members including his beloved nieces and nephews. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church.
Bernie is survived by his father William L. Howard and his mother Gayle Howard; his brother Andrew Howard (Pam) their children Emma (Jordan), Natalie, and Lauren; his brother Dan Howard (Beth) their children Erin (Andrew) and Matt; his sister Cathy McDonald (Jim) their children James (Stephanie), Drew (Danielle), Danny, and Joe; his brother Ted Howard (Christine) their children Jack, Katherine, and Hayden; and his sister Amy Ayer (Robert) their children Anna and Will.
A visitation for Bernie will be held Saturday, May 13, 2023 from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 7200 Sarto Drive, Indianapolis, Indiana, 46240, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM.
