Betty V. Davis, 95, of Indianapolis, passed away February 8, 2018. She was born October 13, 1922 in Indianapolis to the late Leo and Florence (Hollingsworth) Hurley. She is also preceded in death by her husband, John B. Davis, sister, Margaret Reis, and daughter-in-law, Donna Davis. She was a graduate of St. Agnes High School and worked at Airline Caterers and Mutual Hospital Services. Betty was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and former long-time member of St. Andrew Catholic Church. She volunteered in many ways to help children, including as CCD teacher, president of the mother’s club at Cathedral High School, the Scecina High School special education program, St. Mary’s Child Center, the Guardian Angel Guild, and the City Center Visitor’s Center.
She is survived by her children, John Davis, Jim Davis (Dorothy), Joe Davis (Pam), and Jean Sullivan (Richard); 14 grandchildren, Molly Hahn (Noah), Kevin Davis (Lauren), Michael Davis (Brynn), Ryan Davis (Laura), Brian Davis (Cayla), Matthew Davis (Lauren), Katie Davis, Lauren Rappold (Joe), Adam Davis (Rickey), Morgan Soladine, Bridget Cleveland (Tyler), Patrick Sullivan, Michael Sullivan, and Timothy Sullivan; and 5 great grandchildren, Doyle, Leo, and Elizabeth Hahn, Annie Davis, and Henry Rappold.
Visitation will be 9:00 am to 11:00 am Thursday, February 15, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 7200 Sarto Dr., Indianapolis. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am Thursday, February 15 at the church with entombment to follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Indianapolis.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her memory may be made to: St. Pius X Catholic Church or the Guardian Angel Guild, 1400 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis, IN 46202.
