

Betty Jane Greenwade was born on July 26, 1927, in Trenton, Kentucky alongside her twin brother, Clarence Sebree Sr. She was one of ten children born to parents, Henry and Edith (Smith) Sebree. She professed a belief in Christ at the age of 11 and was a member of Sebree Chapel.
She attended Rosenwald Elementary School and graduated from Western Kentucky High School in 1946.
She gave birth to her first son, Ronald Quarles, on June 4, 1950 in Trenton, Kentucky. She later moved to Indianapolis in 1954 and married Howard Greenwade Jr. on August 6, 1955. From their union, she gave birth to a second son, Gerald Greenwade, on January 4, 1957. She was a devoted wife and was married for more than 36 years until Howard’s death in January 1992.
Betty was a devoted employee of the Mosbaugh and Knapp households for over 40 years. She was accepted as a member of their family and cared for and loved them as her own.
When she was not attending church or spending time with her family, she engaged in her favorite hobbies which included gardening and caring for her dog. She also enjoyed singing and watching television, She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
Betty Greenwade was an active and devout member of Blessed Hope Baptist Church for over 48 years. She served in many capacities including Church Clerk, Sunday School Teacher, Vacation Bible School Teacher, Sunday School Secretary, Choir Director, Choir Treasurer, Choir Member, and Member of the Missionary Board. She also enjoyed attending Bible Study and never missed a church function. She was respected by the members of Blessed Hope Baptist Church, affectionately called, â€?"Mother Greenwadeâ€, and was later recognized as a charter member of Blessed Hope Baptist Church. She continued to â€?"run for Jesus†until she left her earthly home on November 22, 2014.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, Henry and Edith Sebree, 7 siblings, and her son Ronald Quarles.
Those left to cherish her memory are: son Gerald Greenwade (Rhonda); her twin brother, Clarence Sebree Sr; sister, Lillian Hunter (Robert); aunt, Sue Cager; granddaughters, Gerrian Greenwade-Jones (Willie), Lindsey Clay (Leonard), Whitney Greenwade, Kelly Quarles, and Aunyea Alexander; grandson, Ronald Alexander, and great grandson, Isaac Clay. She also leaves to cherish her memory, her adopted daughters, Annie Knapp and Virginia Mosbaugh-Horne and adopted grandchildren, Daven and Will Knapp as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and church family members.
