Betty Adell Miller

Betty Adell Miller, age 101, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2026. A centenarian who witnessed a century of change, Betty remained a steady source of wisdom, grace, and strength to all who knew her.

Born in Indianapolis in 1924, Betty lived a life shaped by kindness, love of her family, and a wonderful sense of humor. Throughout her 101 years, she saw the world transform, yet she never lost her appreciation for the simple joys of life. She was a woman of deep character who loved to travel, spend time with her family, and cook. She raised a beautiful family, was a dedicated wife, mother, and friend to all who knew her.

To her family, she was a matriarch and a bridge to the past. She was much more than a mother; she was a best friend and a lifelong confidant. Their bond was a rare and beautiful partnership, built on a century's worth of shared stories, laughter, and an unbreakable connection.

Betty was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Miller, Sr.; William McClish; Adell Rhoades (Grandma); and siblings Mary Ruth, William, and George.

She is survived by her children: Robert Miller Jr (Donna), Pam Miller-Balfour (Jim), Joseph Miller (Kim), David Miller (James), and Julie Miller-Whitney (Jeffrey); grandchildren: Robert Miller III (Amber), Christina Miller, Travis Gatchell (Jennifer), Jenna Gatchell-Unrue (Steven), and Mitchell Landis (Kayla).

Great-grandchildren who will carry forward her legacy include Jackson, Adrianna, Cody, Samantha, Billy, Joey, Aubree, Shawn, Preston, and Juniper.

Visitation will be held at Little & Sons Funeral Home, 4901 East Stop Eleven Road, Indianapolis, IN 46237, on May 6, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

A Catholic Mass will be held at St Jude Catholic Church: 5353 McFarland Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46227, on May 7, 2026 at 10:00 am. Betty will be laid to rest following Mass at Calvary Cemetery: 435 W Troy Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46225.

A life so long and well lived is a rare gift. While 101 years still does not feel like enough time, Betty’s family finds comfort in the legacy of love she leaves behind.
