

Bobbi D. Briscoe entered life on earth July 2, 1960, in Gary, Indiana. She was the third of four wonderful children. Bobbi peacefully departed this life surrounded by family on Tuesday, May 5, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents, Curley L. & Dorothy Briscoe; grandmother, Daisy Crisler; son, Marcus Dontae’ Briscoe; brothers, Curley L Briscoe, Jr., and Terrance L. Briscoe.
Bobbi, with an “I” a/k/a Big Ma, and Auntie Niecy, was a woman who loved big, gave freely, and made everyone feel like family. Whether she was in the kitchen creating meals filled with Love, or showing up with a thoughtful birthday gift that made you feel seen and special, she had a way of turning ordinary moments into cherished memories we all will remember forever. Her laughter was contagious, her spirit was unforgettable, and her presence could light up any room. She brought joy wherever she went and was truly the life and heart of the gathering.
Bobbi created lasting friendships and touched countless lives throughout her career as a dedicated and experienced Dietary Chef, serving in various nursing facilities and hospitals throughout Gary and Indianapolis. More than preparing meals, she served comfort, compassion, and dignity to every person. She took great pride in making sure her residents, coworkers, and staff felt cared for, nourished, and valued. Her warm smile, strong work ethic, and caring spirit made her beloved by many, and the friendships she built through her years of service became like extended family. Whether in the kitchen, the hallways, or sharing laughter during a long shift, she left an unforgettable mark on everyone blessed to work alongside her.
Bobbi was a proud graduate of Lew Wallace High School, where she formed lifelong friendships and began to shine with the confidence, determination, and vibrant spirit that would define her life. She later earned her degree in Business Administration and Management. Throughout her life, she was actively involved in various organizations, always looking for ways to serve, connect, and make a difference. Most recently, she proudly participated with the Urban League of Indianapolis.
She leaves to cherish her memories to her children, James (Patrice) Dillard of St. Paul, Curletha (Corwin) Porter of Lafayette, Brian (Fatima) Briscoe, Joseph (Leneka) Briscoe, Madeline Briscoe, and Jacob Briscoe, all of Indianapolis,; a sister, Madeline Ford of Indianapolis, 21 Grandchildren; an uncle, Jesse “Tex” Sturgis; two great-grandchildren.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and special friends.
Visitation will be held at Crown Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, Memorial Chapel, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46208, on May 22, 2026, from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.
A Celebration of Life will take place at Crown Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, Memorial Chapel, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46208, on May 22, 2026, at 11:00 am.
