Obituary of Bonnie J. Dumes
Bonnie Dumes, daughter James and Mary Snow was born on June 21, 1953 in Indianapolis, in. She accepted Christ early in life and was baptized at St. Rita Catholic Church. She graduated from Crispus Attucks high school. She worked at RCA for many years with her siblings and then she worked at CIC enterprise until she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Bonnie was an extraordinary Daughter, Sister, Mother and Friend. She faced the tremendous adversary of cancer with remarkable strength and courage 3 times. She was a fighter and she fought hard until the very end. Bonnie had jazz about her! You couldn't mention Bonnie without noting that she can dress very well. Everywhere she went she got compliments, rather it was to a Dr. appointment or a gathering. Every time she got dressed, her daughter would say “Mom that’s cute, when did you get that?” Her answer was ALWAYS the same “Girl, I been having this” and Schantel would say “Oh they must sell that at the free store” and they would both laugh. Bonnie had 5 sister and two brothers, they were all very close. Every holiday the family always jumped at the chance of being together and seeing each other at “Grandma house”. They was raised to be loyal to one another, one call and they all came. It was always a joy to hear Bonnie and her siblings talk about “back in the day” they always made it sound so fun and you would almost want to go back to them days yourself. Bonnie and her sister Mary or Tume as she was called had a very close relationship even though Bonnie was much older than Tume, they where attached at the hips. They shared a home up until they both had kids and even then they lived in a double right next to each other for close to 20 years. When Tume left for Arizona it was hard on the both of them. It took a while for them to adjust to the distance. They where more than sisters they was best friends too. Bonnie had one daughter. She always wanted a child but the possibility of having a child was hard. When she became pregnant she was delighted, she loved every minute being a mom. Bonnie was the best mommy you could ask for. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; James and Mary Snow. A sister Rita Louise Snow and a brother Preston Snow. She leaves to cherish her precious memory her daughter Schantel Dumes, fur grandbaby Ekho, sisters; Mary Reed (James), Pamela Griffin (Gardner), Beverly Davids (Donald), Karen Snow and her brother Dennis Snow (Theresa) her best friend, Carmen Bass and many family and friends.
