Fishers, IN
August 24, 1956 - January 16, 2024
Brad Cross passed away on January 16, 2024 of complications related to Alzheimer’s Disease. He was surrounded by the love of family and friends in his final days. He was born in Kokomo, IN to the late Ralph and Yuvonne Cross. Brad graduated from Indiana University School of Business in Bloomington. He was a member of the Student Athletic Board and Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity where he met many of his closest friends.
Brad worked his entire career in grocery operations beginning with a summer job in his Uncle Claude Carter’s Supermarket in Tipton. He worked for Kroger, 7-11 Supermarkets, and Double 8 Foods. He fulfilled his lifelong dream of owning a store with a partnership at Grace Foods/Safeway Markets, retiring in 2019. Brad loved the grocery business and the relationships he built throughout the years. Brad was all-in at work and home but his proudest role was as a family man. He was happiest spending time with his wife, Ellen, and their two children Adison (born Thomas) and Caroline.
He made it to every swim meet, game, and performance he could and hated to miss any. He was an active swim dad, volunteering as an official for several years. He made many good friends there and within the Windermere neighborhood. Sharing stories over good food and drinks was his favorite night out. Brad liked to relax on vacation, particularly at St. Pete Beach. The sand, sun, and cheeseburgers at his favorite spot energized him. He loved Hoosier basketball, deep-sea fishing, dogs, and listening to music.
Brad is survived by his wife Ellen Crump Cross, children Adison (fiancé Taylor) and Caroline, siblings-in-law Denise Lebrock, Steve Crump, and Annie Crump, nephew Jacob Lebrock, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is predeceased by his parents and brothers Ralph III and W.D.
The family would like to extend its gratitude for the loving care Brad received at Traditions at Solana Memory Care and St. Croix Hospice.
