Brian Stephen Sobus

Brian Stephen Sobus, age 60, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Friday, June 24, 2022. Brian was born May 24, 1962. Brian was born in Baltimore, Maryland and was a 1980 Graduate of Mergenthaler High School. If you would ask Brian where he would want to be, he would tell you “At the beach fishing!”. He loved to be on the water boating, fishing, crabbing or driving his Jeep on the beach to enjoy the smell of the salt air and soaking up the sunshine. This is where he was the happiest. Since moving to Indiana, he looked forward to his yearly road trips to Hatteras, NC with his wife, Rene. He was so excited to take Rene for her first time in 2012 to enjoy the laid back beach atmosphere, eating seafood and of course fishing. This is the place that brought a constant smile, inner peace and a good night sleep for him with the windows open to feel the cool ocean breeze. Hatteras held a special place in his heart and soul. Brian was also the man you could depend on. If you needed help with fixing a mechanical issue with a car or a motorcycle, he was the guy to go to. He could fix just about anything that came his way. If you needed a friend to talk to, he would be there. If you needed advice, he would give it. Brian would do almost anything for his family and friends and never expected anything in return. There are many great things to say about Brian but the best are; he was a gentleman, gave the best hugs, had such a great smile and deeply loved Rene. Brian and Rene shared a love and bond that is once in a lifetime. He had so many family and friends that he loved and cared for and had many happy memories with each and everyone. Brian is survived by his wife of 17 years, Rene (Carnes) Sobus, Mother In Law, Susan Carnes, Sister, Joanne (Sobus) Fleming and husband Tom, Niece, Allie, Nephew, Colin from Owings, Maryland and many cousins and friends. His parents Stephen S Sobus and Josephine M Sobus (Chmielewski) proceeded him in death. Brian is now casting out a line in the ocean and waiting for that big one to hit the bait.
