REV. CALVIN KELLY was born on July 2, 1936 in Earlington, Kentucky to the late William and Ruth Kelly.
REV. KELLY was an US Army veteran.
REV. KELLY became a Christian at the early age of 9 years old, when he attended a revival, he went on to serve 53 years in the Ministry, in which 43 of those years were in Pastoral Care. He served as the Pastor of Good Samaritan Missionary Baptist for 35 years and 6 months and retired on August 12, 2012 as Pastor of Good Samaritan MBC.
REV. KELLY served as Chaplain of Wishard Memorial Hospital for 15 years. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Martin University and his Master’s Degree from IU at Clarion Health in Indianapolis, Indiana.
REV. KELLY served as Vice President of Sunday School and Baptist Training Union of Indiana. He was also past Board Member of the Wheeler Boy’s Club and Urban League.
REV. KELLY was a current member of Good Shepard Missionary Baptist Church, located at 3650 Guion Road, Indianapolis, IN , where Rev. James D. Payton is the Pastor.
REV. KELLY served as an alternating Men’s Sunday School Teacher, Chaplain of the Seniors Ministry (GS3S) and Assistant Spiritual Counseling to the Pastor and served as Pastor to Pastor Payton.
REV. KELLY was married to Hazel Virginia Kelly for 55 years and preceded him in death. They had 2 sons, Calvin Kelly and Christopher Kelly.
Pastor Payton called Rev. Kelly a “God Man” because he simply exhibited exemplary spiritual conduct throughout his life.
Rev. Kelly is preceded in death by his parents, wife and son Christopher Kelly.
REV. KELLY is survived by his son Calvin Kelly, grandchildren, great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and his spiritual family .
