Carl Francis Bordenkecher
January 9, 1927 – January 15, 2022

Carl Francis Bordenkecher 95, of Indianapolis, passed away January 15, 2022. He was born January 9, 1927 in Indianapolis, Indiana the son of Lillian Elizabeth Healy Bordenkecher and Carl Andrew Bordenkecher. He attended St. Philip Neri School, Cathedral High School and Butler University. In 1945-1946, Carl served in WWII as a radio Operator in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Saratoga. Carl retired after 38 years from Conrail Railroad as a Yard Master. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Carl sang with the Barbershop chorus and was a blessing to all who knew him.
Carl and Sylvia had 6 children and 4 grandchildren. They were members of Holy Spirit at Geist Catholic Church.
Carl is survived by his children, Lisa E. Bayne, Robert R. and David A (Sue), Janet C. Valasek, Mary Jo Rothenbush, grandchildren, Kate N and Beth A. Bordenkecher, Nicholas R. Rothenbush, and Ryan M. Jeter, sister, Janet T. (Bordenkecher) Nagle, along with 3 nieces, Joni Nagle, Angie (Nagle) Sams and Christy (Nagle) Brown.
Carl is preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Sylvia J. (Sendelbach) Bordenkecher who passed away in 2009. He is also preceded in death by his daughter, Lynn A. Jeter and brother, Robert J. Bordenkecher.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church at Geist (10350 Glaser Way, Fishers, IN. 46037) from 11:00am-12:00pm with Mass immediately following at 12:00pm. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery in Indianapolis, IN.
