Obituary of Carl Hunt
ELDER CARL HUNT was born on December 7, 1943, to Herman and Sam Ella Hunt in East Prairie Missouri. He received his High School diploma in Dowagiac, Michigan for High School and graduated from Lake Michigan College. He began his Christian ministry with Church of God in Christ where he was an ordained Elder and served as a pastor. Later, he walked in the faith of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World and became a faithful member of Christ Temple Apostolic Faith Assembly and served as a minister. ELDER CARL was a very hard worker and al-ways took care of his family. He started his work career as a steel pattern maker in the automotive industry and served as a Union representative as a UAW president and later retired from Harvard Industries in Albion, Michigan. In his leisure, he enjoyed several hobbies which included wood crafting, jewelry making, tinkering with computers, furniture building and fishing. In his youth he played basketball, football, baseball and could be found in his later years enjoying watching all sports. Carl was known to burst out with a “Hallelujah” at any time and loved listening to quartet groups. A known favorite was “It’s Gonna Rain” by the Sensational Nightingales. One of his most favorite activities was to spend time with his wife, children, and family. ELDER CARL was truly a blessed man and lived a faithful life loving the Lord. The Lord called him home on June 23, 2022. He was preceded in death by his father, Herman Hunt; mother, Sam Ella Hunt; brother, Cecil Hunt; sons, Todd Archer, Kerry Archer, and daughter Catherine Hunt. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Sherra Maria Hunt; one sister, Erma Hunt; children; Carlina Wilkes (Thomas Wilkes), Karla Archer-Poindexter, Carl Carlis Hunt Jr., Alice Pickens, Mark Hunt, Gene Hunt (Debra), Christopher Hunt, Heather Stewart (Bruce), Torey Jones, Tenisha Jones, Charles Lane Sr., Chara Harris (Jon), Clara Jones, Josephus Jones Sr., two inherited sons, Jasper and Lorenzo Taylor; 45 grand-children, 43 great grandchildren, one great great-grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
