Carlton Lee Dozier

Carlton received his education through the Indianapolis Public School System. Graduating from Shortridge High School Class of 1967.

Carlton proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Reserves as a Sergeant First Class (E7). Carlton was an extremely hard worker he had a very full career at the Kroger corporation where he worked diligently until his well-deserved retirement in 1990.Carlton was an avid businessman after retiring he embarked on entrepreneurship and building business endeavors in which he enjoyed. Upon fully retiring Carlton could be found indulging in his passion for travel, exploring far-off destinations and immersing himself in new cultures. Carlton was a skilled card player, always ready for a friendly game with friends and family. Carlton L. Dozier was truly a sharp and distinguished dresser and was always the Life of Party!

Carlton was preceded in death by his parents Walter Leonard and Annie Joyner-Dozier, brothers Patrick Dozier, Leon Dozier, children Christine M. Dozier, Desmond L. Dozier.

He leaves behind a legacy of humor and kindness, and a great work ethic to his children: Desmond Dozier, Christine Dozier, Derrick (Desiree) Dozier, Dominique Dozier, and Danta Brown- Dozier. His grandchildren Lauren Wright, Kyara Wiggs, Kayla Wooldridge, Marcus Weathers Jr, Derrick Dozier Jr, Nathan Lomax Jr. Louis Dozier, Presston Dozier who were the highlight of his life. His only sister Peggy Joyce Lyons of Richmond, Virginia. Carlton Lee Dozier was truly well known, and he leaves behind a huge village of loving family and many dear friends to cherish his legacy.

While we mourn his passing, we find comfort in the memories of Carlton's laughter and love. His absence leaves a void in our hearts, but we know he is now at peace.

A visitation for Carlton will be held Sunday, November 3, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Crown Hill Funeral Home & Cemetery, 700 W. 38th St., Indianapolis, Indiana 46208, followed by a celebration of life at 1:00 PM.
