Carol C Miles

Carol was born in Bloomington, Indiana to Harry P. Cooper Jr. and Elizabeth L. Cooper, the

eldest of three children. She attended Broad Ripple High School and was a 1957 graduate of

Indiana University with a degree in journalism.

Carol was employed at Indianapolis Newspapers Inc.’s personnel department. Her work as

editor of the interdepartmental newsletter, The Home Edition, brought her much pleasure. It

took her to all areas of the news organization, where she found many friends, as well as the

love of her life, Arthur “Bud” Miles. They enjoyed nearly 64 years together. Carol was a

constant source of love and support to her family and friends. She proudly attended many

stage productions and concerts by her daughter, son-in-law, and grandson.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Betty Cooper, and her younger brother,

Harry P. Cooper III.

Carol is survived by her husband Arthur “Bud” Miles, daughter Diana (John) Huntoon,

grandson Isaac (Zoë) Huntoon, sister Linda (John) Etherton, sister-in-law Sue Spivey Cooper,

nephews Scott R. Cooper, Kent (Hannah) Etherton, Bruce Pendry, Miles Pendry, niece Cheryl

(Robert) Inskeep, and many cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Indianapolis on Monday, August 28th

at 1:00 PM.
