

Born Carol Jean Swengel on August 31, 1949, to Norman and Margaret Swengel, she spent the great abundance of her life in Franklin Township on the southeast side of Indianapolis. A 1967 graduate of Franklin Central High School, she returned to her alma mater to serve for 33 years in various capacities, most notably as the longtime Office Manager and de facto Mother Flash to the school community.
Carol is survived by her son Christopher Robert and daughter Michelle, who was her ‘favorite’; grandchildren Isabella, Julia, and Clarence, IV; and great-granddaughters Serenity and Rose. She was preceded by her son Clarence, III; brother Lloyd Swengel; sister Rose Ann Swengel; and half-sister Rose Messina. Survivors include sisters Betsy Swengel and Cindy [Don] Boothby; brothers Richard [Paula] Swengel and Steve [Randy] Swengel; half-brother John Swengle [who indeed spells it differently]; and several loving nieces and nephews and their families.
Visitation for Carol will be held Saturday, September 24, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Little & Sons Funeral Home, 4901 E Stop Eleven Road, Indianapolis, Indiana 46237, followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 PM. Carol chose her final resting place and will become a tree on her son and daughter’s land in South Carolina.
