

Carol Joan (Kiewitt) Scott, age 87 Carmel, IN, passed away on April 8th at 2:45pm at Danville, IN. She was born on October 29, 1939 to parents, Harold Henry Kiewitt and Gladys Audrey (Hitchcock) Kiewitt. Carol has two brothers, Richard Harold Kiewitt (Susie) (deceased) and Robert Lee Kiewitt (Mary).
Carol grew up in the Broad Ripple/Glendale area, graduating from John Strange Grade School in 1953, and graduating from Shortridge High School in 1957. Carol graduated from Butler University in 1962 with a BS in Elementary Education, with special license in Kindergarten Studies. She enjoyed teaching 2nd grade for the Indianapolis Public Schools.
Carol married the love of her life Robert Edwin Scott on June 15, 1963. They were married for 57 years. They moved to Carmel, IN in 1973. Carol is survived by two wonderful children, Rebecca R. Ingle (Greg) and David E. Scott (Whitney), 6 beautiful grandchildren, Amanda (Tyler) Lubbs, Jake and Luke (Hannah) Marsh and Jack (Emily) and Leanne Scott and Kaelin (Dustin) Limberry. 2 great grandchildren, Liv and Vivian Lubbs. Carol’s family was the love of her life.
Carol felt blessed to be able to stay at home while rearing their two children and was always very active as various PTO’s officers where her children attended school, receiving a lovely “Farewell Book” when she left. She and her husband, Bob, were pioneering supporters of Carmel High School’s parent anti-drug group. Carol loved being a Brownie Leader, Girl Scout Assistant and Cookie Chairman, Cub Scout Assistant, and Carmel Dad’s Club Baseball Team Mom. Carol volunteered at St. Vincent Hospital, Teacher’s Treasures, and Northminster Presbyterian Church and Orchard Park Presbyterian Church Vacation Bible School to name a few. She and her husband, Bob, were members of Connection Pointe Christian Church in Brownsburg, IN. She enjoyed many crafts, interior decorating, gardening, bowling, tennis, baseball, and traveling, especially to the East Coast.
Upon returning to the workforce, Carol worked for Bethany Christian Services, an International and Domestic Adoption Service, as Secretary for the Indiana State Office. After leaving Bethany, she was employed as Administrative Assistant for the Business Administrator of Second Presbyterian Church until her retirement.
A memorial service will be held at Crown Hill Funeral Home in Indianapolis, IN on May 30th at 1:00pm with burial following after.
