

Carter Murray Fortune 70 years old, passed away in Florida on August 25, 2012. He was born in Indianapolis September 21, 1941 to the late Russell Fortune, Jr. and Martha Murray Fortune.
Carter Fortune was, first of all, a great humanitarian, businessman, respectful of family, and lover of people. He graduated from Shortridge High School. Carter earned a Bachelor's Degree in Finance from the University of Cincinnati. He worked for Stokely-Van Camp and Howard E Nyhart Companies. He was a member of The Penrod Society, Woodstock Country Club and The University Club. Carter served as Director of the Indianapolis Motorcycle Drill Team. He earned the highest distinction in Indiana, The Sagamore of the Wabash Award, and served as Chairman of the Board for Fortune Industries.
Carter's children wanted to note Dad lived life to the fullest and never met a stranger. Dad always followed his dreams. He will be missed every day for the rest of our life.
Carter is the great-grandson of William Fortune, one of the founders of Eli Lilly. Left to cherish Carter's memory is his wife, Kimberle Ann Fortune. His surviving family are: Son, Russell Carter Fortune; grandsons, Richard Carter Fortune and Russell Tanner Fortune: Daughter, Deborah Elaine Fortune Hunter; grandchildren, Cole Fortune Hunter and Elizabeth Fortune Hunter: Daughter, Heather Murray Fortune Lacy; grandchild, Olivia Elaine Lacy; Brother, Jock Fortune; Sister, Sheila Fortune, her daughter, Sophia Fortune Gold, two children, Hannah Leah and Robert Gold, Jr.
