Cathy was a member of United Methodist Church. She earned her degree in Banking and Finance and worked as a loan conversion specialist.
She was a lover of history, biology, and recently discovered a love for genealogy before her passing. She loved listening to music, especially classic rock. She was an avid sports fan and you would always find her watching any baseball, or football games (specifically the Chicago Cubs or Indianapolis Colts).
If she was not traveling the world with her soulmate, John, she could be found spending time and making memories with her grandchildren whom she loved more than anything in this world, giving them whatever they wanted or needed.
Cathy was a big hearted person who could find the good in anyone. She was generous, intelligent, and as she called herself a “flower child.” She was always there when someone needed her no matter the circumstance, with zero judgement- earning herself the title of "MamaCat" with her nurturing personality.
Cathy is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, John A. Koehler; her daughter, Sandy Friday; her sons: Andy Koehler and Zachary (Lindsey) Koehler; her sister Dianne Lehr; her brother James M. (Sabra) Keesee; her grandchildren: Cathy Friday, Jordan Geiger, Alex Geiger, James (Emily) Geiger II, Drew Koehler, Caleb Koehler, Stella Koehler, Quentin Koehler; great grandchildren: Jax Geiger and Bay Geiger; her nephews: Matthew Brooks, Chris (Corrie) Keesee; her nieces: Missy Lehr, and Lynn (Rick) Esposito; her great nephews: Carter and Conrad Brooks, Jackson, Shaw, and Cameron Keesee, Kyle Gunkler, Conner Gunkler, and Colin Gunkler; her great nieces: Madilyn Swank-Brooks, Calista Brooks, and Kailyn Gunkler
In addition to her parents, Cathy was preceded in death by her son Jared Koehler.
Cathy was loved by all and will be missed by many. Do not shed a tear for she is with you in your hearts- in true Cathy fashion the family has requested you treat this day as a party and not a funeral. Come as you are in your casual clothes and celebrate the life of Cathy as she would want to be remembered.
